Introductory class activity: DEAD OR ALIVE
Welcome to Anatomy and Physiology class! I am away for the first week of school due to a medical issue. I look forward to seeing you next week. For your first assignment, I would like you to go outside and find the following objects Draw them and answer the following questions. There are no wrong answers for this assignment!
1. Find something dead. How do you know it is dead?
2. find something alive. What is it about this object that makes it alive?
3. Find something that has never, ever been alive. What characteristics does this object have that tells you that it is neither dead nor alive?
4. Find something that is not alive, but an important PART of something alive. Explain your answer
5. What is something that is not alive but a living thing depends upon it to survive?
6. Look at your responses and ask yourself: What are the criteria of being alive?
7. Discuss the criteria of living things as a class discussion. Listen to your classmate's responses and summarize them.
Your teacher will collect your assignments and give you 10 marks for each of your responses.
Your teacher will make a class roster and assign a mark for all completed responses.
